Profile

Robert graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1979. He started physician training for 2 years at Johannesburg Hospital and completed his FRACP at Prince of Wales/Prince Henry Hospitals in 1986. He then went into Cardiology training at Prince Henry and completed his training in 1989. This was followed by two years of research in lipid abnormalities and coronary atherothrombosis. Robert founded what is now known as Cardiology Associates in 1991. Robert was appointed as a Cardiologist at Sutherland Hospital in 1991 and has fostered the growth of the Department of Cardiology over the last 30 years.

Continuing Education/Teaching/Research

Robert is the most senior specialist in the Department of Cardiology at Sutherland Hospital. He is an all-round cardiologist with wide ranging interests in Echocardiography, Cardiac Catheterisation, Clinical Cardiology, and general medicine. He is also involved in supervising undergraduate and post-graduate physician trainees, as well as advanced trainees in ongoing Cardiology education.
